3 Different Learning Strategies

In my last post, 3 Various kinds of Learners, I explained the 3 different broadly accepted types of learners. These are Visible, Auditory and Kinesthetic/Tactile.

In this post I will explain and offer different strategies and exercise routines for the 3 different sets of learners. Remember though, that a lot of people are usually a variety of different learning designs with one which stands out predominantly.

You will find that in certain circumstances, some learners shall need to use different learning strategies. For eg. I am an assortment of all 3 learning styles and learn nicely from reading written information (visual), but also learn whilst writing out the notes (kinesthetic).

Visual Learning Strategy - studying tips for visual learners to utilize

' Outlines - in case a learner understands how a certain concepts pertains to the section/subject all together they will grasp it quicker, and also have a deeper knowledge of the subject all together

' Maps - thoughts maps, organisational charts, diagrams

' Highlighters

' Lists - bulleted factors are readable

' Colour code parts of work so the learner relates that color to that concept

' Use of videos when possible

' Flashcards

' Visual Mnemonics - pictures to remember steps or concepts of a concept. Best for learning languages as the learner can associate a term to an image

Auditory Learning Strategy - learning strategies for auditory learners to use

' Word mnemonics and associations

' Mnemonics are rhymes or songs made up to greatly help the learner remember specific things. It is possible to Google this to get a great deal of different ideas.

' Term association and acronyms - E.g. to spell BECAUSE "Betty eats cakes and uncles sells eggs"

' It is possible to summarise points in this manner also

' Eg 3 traits of Hitler

' A G E - Autocratic, German, Enigmatic

' Get the learner to explain what you have gone through back again to you within their own words

' Get the learner to do it again facts and numbers that they have to learn parrot fashion with their eyes closed to themselves

Kinesthetic/Tactile Learning Technique - studying tips for kinesthetic learners to utilize

' Role play

' Obtain the learner to physically do it themselves - i.e. make their learning tangible

' Take them on a field trip

' Study in a nutshell bursts and present them frequent breaks

' Try getting the learner to stroll/ tap their feet whilst explaining something back to you or have them play with a new yo yo whilst learning. They could also take their notes to gym and go through them whilst on an exercise bike

' This stops their brain from becoming distracted by attempting to perform something else more active. This means that they will be able to concentrate much better on studying.

' the stimuli are provided by it needed to learn

It is essential for learners to have study skills, however it is even more very important to them to have study skills relevant to the real way they learn. I am hoping this post really helps to obtain your learner studying wise and not hard!
